We are just home from a 4 night stay in the Sabasultan hotel - and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. This is a small, homely hotel, with rooms that are not very large, but very comfortable. There isn't a lot of hanging space or storage space but it was adequate to our needs. Television; internet/wifi connection; courtesy tray for tea and coffee(replenished daily), with electric kettle; bottled water into fridge (replenished daily);air conditioning; hairdryer in bathroom, toiletries sewing kit, etc - everything you could possible want for your stay. The towels are changed daily and the sheets and pillowcases were changed at least once in our four night stay. There is also a roof terrace and it is very pleasant to take a cup of coffee from the breakfast room up to the terrace in the morning and look out over the Sea of Marmaris and the start of the Bosphorous - and then turn around to see the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia - a super panoramic view up here. Simple breakfast in the morning, cereals, dried fruits, olives, tomatoes, cheeses, cold meats, boiled eggs, little cakes, bread, butter, preserves, etc and to drink fruit juice, tea and coffee. However the biggest assets of this hotel are Tuba, Yunus and Himli- truly wonderfully warm and welcoming young people at the Reception Desk, who are only too delighted to assist you in any query about Istanbul that you may have - and who are also so willing to engage you in friendly conversation. They all seemed to take much pleasure in relating to their hotel guests. Tuba - in particular - was very happy to teach me a few Turkish words and phrases (ably supported though by Yunus), some of which I practised when I was out and about - which would bring a smile of delight to the faces of the people on whom I practised. The title above says 'Hello (merhaba), good afternoon (il gunler) and nalsisin (how are you?)'. My husband and I would heartily recommend this hotel - right in the heart of the Sultanamet - a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace, the metro, and many other attractions too numerous to mention. This was our first time in Istanbul and when we go back we will definately stay at the Sabasultan hotel. Tersekkurler - Thanks.
